Include your app version, iOS version, device model, the steps you followed, and what you expected to happen. Use fictional examples when possible. Avoid sending private rosters, pay details, or invitation links unless they are needed to explain the issue.

Get started

Open New schedule, choose the person and schedule name, then set up your shifts. Use manual dates for changing weeks or a repeating cycle for a regular rotation. Shift times and hourly rates are optional for basic scheduling.

Try sample lets you explore separate example data before creating your own schedule.

Common questions

Can I use labels without times or pay?

Yes. Basic shifts only need a label. Add work times or hourly rates when they are useful to you. Without a rate, the app does not invent a pay estimate.

How do I manage more than one job?

Keep each job in its own schedule. Choose the schedules you want to see in the calendar, or compare selected work dates in Coworker schedules. Comparison is read-only; it does not assign shifts to someone else.

How do planned and actual hours differ?

Planned hours come from your schedule. Actual hours come from the recording choices you enable for that schedule. You can use clock recording, actual hours, or both. In Statistics, choose a day, week, or month and select Planned or Actual. Pay estimates need a rate and do not apply payroll rules.

What should I check when importing a roster image?

Use a clear English date/shift list or date-by-person table. Check the year, date order, your row, shift codes, and overnight times before applying the draft. Enter ambiguous or unsupported layouts manually. On-device text assistance needs a compatible device and an available Apple Intelligence model.

Why did a reminder not arrive?

Open Settings > Reminders in ShiftNook. Check device permissions, failed items, and the last scheduled date. Review Focus and notification settings. System alarms need iOS 26 or later; earlier systems use local notifications. Each phone manages its own reminders. Sample mode uses a test adapter, so return to local schedules when checking real reminders.

How do I add a widget or use Apple Watch?

Preview options in Settings > Widgets, then add a widget from the system widget gallery. Some interactive actions need a newer iOS version. For Watch, install the companion on a paired watch and open Settings > Apple Watch on the phone. The watch shows your own work information and sends supported actions to the paired phone.

Do I need iCloud?

No. Local schedules work without it. If you choose sync, sign in to iCloud in system settings and open Settings > iCloud sync in ShiftNook. A local save and a cloud upload are separate outcomes; check the sync status before assuming another device has received a change.

What does a read-only invitation include?

Only the checked work dates you select, with shift labels or times. It excludes pay, private notes, personal plans, actual work records, preparation lists, and original images. Review recipients before sharing. Revocation cannot recall a copy someone has already saved.

How can I export or recover my records?

Use the selected schedule’s export action to create an image, CSV, or calendar file. For a full structured backup, use Settings > Back up data. Restore backup lets you inspect proposed changes before applying them. Full backups can contain private records and pay information; store them somewhere you control.

Are there ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases?

No. All features in version 1 are free. There are no advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in this version.
